Rockaway Beach, Oregon

A little bit ago we got back from spending a week at a beach house on the Oregon coast with Trevor's family. Trevor and I had never been to Oregon before, and we loved it. Even though it was a little chilly, Roackway Beach was beautiful.

Despite his broken leg, Thompson turned into quite the little beach bum on this trip. The first day we took him out, he hated it. He hated the sand and he hated that we had to tape up his leg to keep the sand out. By the end of the trip though, he would wake up asking for the "beeeetttch, beeeetttch".

It was too cold to swim, so the boys had to entertain themselves in other ways. Like building tunnels. Lots of tunnels. And tunnels under tunnels.

Thompson rocked the sand-laden, wind-blown, beach curls like no one's business. This boy is such a little stud.

At the top of my to-do list while in Oregon was a visit to the Tillamook Cheese Factory. (Not pictured: me eating lots of cheese and way too much ice cream over the course of the week.)

We also went to Cannon Beach to check out the tide pools. Besides having amazing star fish, Cannon Beach also has the best little crepe place. Trevor got a crab and avocado crepe; I got a fig, goat cheese, prosciutto, and honey one. We got a salted caramel and nutella crepe to split for dessert, but went back and got a second one because neither of wanted to share. I need to re-create these combos soon.

Thompson got to go on his first train ride, a little scenic trip up the Oregon Coast to the next town. He spent the first five minutes of the trip with his arms folded. Whether he was just in awe and reverence of the train, or he was scared and praying for his life, I wish I knew. Either way, it was hilarious.

As usual, Thompson soaked up all the extra attention from family. We kind of liked hanging out with them, too. Thanks, Wrights, for the awesome vacation!
